Ainhoa López de Munain
Soprano
Ainhoa López de Munain, born in Vitoria-Gasteiz (Basque Country), was recently awarded prizes at the “Ciudad de Logroño” International Singing Competition, the Corsica Lirica competition, and the Valleseco International Zarzuela Competition. She graduated from the Hanns Eisler School of Music in Berlin, where she studied under the guidance of Ewa Wolak, Liana Vlad, Matthias Samuil, and Wolfram Rieger. She has refined her training with renowned artists such as Brigitte Fassbaender, Mariella Devia, and Thomas Quasthoff, which has enabled her to perform various opera roles and numerous concerts.

Bach Cantatas - BWV 77, 78 and 80

The cantatas of Johann Sebastian Bach are masterpieces of Baroque music, in which text and music are interwoven in a deeply impressive way. Melody, rhythm, articulation and the choice of instruments reflect the different characters of the biblical texts on which they are based. Through expressive musical gestures, Bach lets listeners experience the full spectrum of human emotion in all its depth. Around 200 Bach cantatas have survived. Each semester, students work on several of them under the direction of Raphael Alpermann, performing them in a final concert at the Sophienkirche.
The renowned harpsichordist and Eisler alumnus Raphael Alpermann has been a founding member of the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin since 1982 and can be heard as a soloist on many of the ensemble's recordings and concerts. Alongside his extensive concert career, he has taught for many years at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin and at the Universität der Künste Berlin.

Christmas Oratorio - Bach

With Bach's "Christmas Oratorio", students of the Eisler are guests at the Nikolaikirche, the oldest church building in Berlin's city center. Composed in Leipzig in 1734/35, the Baroque masterpiece still features every Advent season on the programs of numerous churches and concert halls. The Chorlabor of the Eisler, an ensemble of vocal students and external singers, together with choral conducting students, strings and saxophones, aims to bring tradition and modernity together. Under the artistic direction of choral conductor and Eisler alumnus Jonas Kraft, the students present the audience with a lively interpretation of excerpts from the festive oratorio in new tonal colors.
